The Project
A two-storey weatherboard home in Paremata required a full exterior repaint. The property had a steep driveway and a narrow side access — the kind of site that requires careful planning.
Capital Painting Services asked us to supply and erect the scaffolding before their crew arrived, and to coordinate directly with their site foreman on timing.
The Setup
We erected a full perimeter scaffolding with two lifts — one at gutter level for the upper storey and one at the base of the upper-floor windows for the lower storey. Wide boards throughout, kick boards at every level, and access ladders positioned at two points for efficient crew movement.
Total erection time: one day with a two-person crew.
The Difference It Made
With the scaffolding in place, the painting crew had full, stable access to every part of the exterior. No ladder repositioning, no reaching across from awkward angles.
The painter's foreman told us the scaffolding saved them at least a full day of painting time — time that would have been spent moving ladders, re-securing them, and working at less-than-ideal angles.
The scaffolding stayed up for 12 days in total. We dismantled and removed it the day after the final coat was applied.
